Senior

I had the privilege of meeting up with this senior on tax day! (I'm running behind in blogging.) The weather turned chilly and cloudy but she was a trooper.  We spent an hour running around downtown and by the time we were done it was getting CHILLY.  However, you can't tell it from these images.

Early Bird

This week has been crazy busy!  I have several blogs that need to be written but first I just wanted to say that this little guy never ceases to amaze me.  He gives amazing smiles even when he has to get up early and doesn't get his morning bottle as normal.  He was a champ for us this morning (we were afraid the rain would move in early and jeopardize our evening session plans).  Others coming soon.....

Sweet Dreams

Just wanted to share one of the precious little guy I was privileged to spend time with tonight. He snoozed away and let us move him however we wanted.  I think he enjoyed being the center of attention.

More to come in a few days....

Easter Blessings

I hope all of you are having a blessed Easter weekend.  We began this weekend with a Good Friday Service at our church.  It is the first time we have done something like that and it was the perfect way to start this weekend.  It set the tone and anticipation for Sunday.

After an Easter egg hunt today we met up with this sweet family for a portrait shoot.  It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed the time we spent with them.   All three kids were a pleasure to work with.  I loved their choice of outfits - great spring colors.  I think we are all ready to have a little warm weather!

Taylor exhibited a quiet beauty.  She is a beautiful girl and made my job super easy.  She was on the quiet side today but so willing to help out with her brother and sister.  Mom and Dad are blessed to have her.

I wish I had the energy that Will had.  He was so fun!  Photo sessions are tough for 4 year old boys but he hung in there and gave us great smiles.  We even had some fun along the way!

This precious little girl was careful with her smiles but all of us worked together to find them. Like most her age she was very inquisitive about the grass, brick, and pretty much everything around her.  I wish I could see the world through their eyes for just a bit.

It really was a pleasure to spend a little bit of time together today.  I have the best job of getting to meet people I wouldn't ordinarily come into contact with. I hope we will see more of each other in the future!

Sweet Friend

Kim has been a great friend of mine since I started graduate school in Abilene. We both remember the moment that we decided to be friends. We knew of each other before beginning our Master's programs but not well.  One night at the beginning of our program we both were feeling the need for a friend.  We hit it off immediately.  We did a lot together during those two years, including Kim living with Mike and I for a few weeks when things really weren't going well for her.

Kim and Jacob have dated for a LONG time.  Six years to be more precise. They have had their moments but I know they are ready to make this next step.  Kim and I have planned for a long time to take some photos when they came to visit and luckily it got to be their engagement session.  I am so excited to participate in their wedding in Virginia in just a few short months.

Kim kept telling me how they weren't photogenic but I never believed her.  I looked forward to this session for several weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the few hours we spent on their session.

We laughed ALOT and that always makes for good times.

There were several different settings for this session .... and I loved them all.  It was so hard to choose any favorites.

Jacob even admitted that he enjoyed himself.  I considered it successful when I hear those words!  Of course I had my best assistant on hand to keep the laughs coming.

This might be one of my favorites.

Or maybe this one....It really is to hard to choose just one!

Kim is already getting lots of use from her pictures.  We created a wedding invitation that she will use as well as finding several others ways to incorporate these images into the big day.

Kim and Jacob, Mike and I can't wait to celebrate with you both in just a few short weeks!  It's going to be a great weekend!

Mr. Personality

This little guy had a lot of personality as evidenced below.  I have said it before and will continue to say it, the time frame from 6-12 months is so fun!  Babies are starting to really get a personality and are so interested in EVERYTHING!!! Most of the little ones lately have been enthralled with grass.  None of them have seen or played in much of it before.  Paying attention to me is not as much fun so we work really hard to get their attention.  If anyone was to have a video camera we would be guaranteed to win America's Funniest Video with the way we usually jump around and sing songs.

These are a few days late but I hope they are loved by his momma while she waits patiently for the rest!

I told you he was a cutie!  I'm loving the later evenings and warm weather.  My camera loves it too!

6 Month Old Charmer

This is my third time to photograph this sweet little guy. It is soooo much fun to watch them grow up during this first year. However, this time he made us work for his attention. He's six months old, it's been a cold winter, and he hasn't been introduced to the wonders of grass and leaves until our session together. He was much more interested in figuring out all these new amazing things than smiling for us. I love the wonder of this age though. Everything they pick up goes straight to the mouth - they want to touch it AND eat it!

His mom told me that he was a happy baby and I believed her. After he had the opportunity to explore all these new things I got to see lots of the happy baby she told me about.

See I told you. As soon as his clothes came off he was talking and smiling like crazy!

Here is the perfect example of how to spice up a rather simple outfit. His little hat just tops things off to make something simple look so trendy and unique. He LOVES his hat and starts laughing when he sees it. Mom says that when he sees himself in a mirror he goes nuts. I can definitely believe it!

He has mastered sitting as long as he has his arms to balance. I think he was pretty proud of himself. He isn't crawling yet but that will come soon enough!

Thanks again for allowing me to have a part of this first year. I can't wait to see this little guy grow up!
