Blessings

I met this sweet baby last Sunday when he was nine days old. I couldn't have asked for a better model. He slept through the whole session. I thought he might stir at some point but he just snuggled in and got a good nap. He was 9 pounds and so he showed off his rolls and sweet little double chin.

His mom had me come to their home and it was enjoyable to spend the afternoon in their home. They are both so relaxed and settled with this new bundle of joy. I think he will fit just fine.

4 days old

This sweet little girl came in to the world last Wednesday morning. She is the second child (first daughter) of some friends in our small group from church. I felt honored to spend Sunday afternoon hanging out capturing their new little family. Her mom was amazing to keep our plans as I know she felt awful....she's not only recovering from a C-section but has a bad cold AND a spinal headache as well! She wanted some precious images so she endured. Her sister came over to help so it was a family affair!

Enjoy friends!

We ventured out to the front steps to play in the baskets....she just slept as I carried her all over the yard.

LOVE the dark hair, chubby cheeks, and double chin!

2 in 1

So this is a twofer special! Two sessions in one blog! Both of these sweet girls were photographed yesterday. This has been a fun weekend of hanging out with new little girls and their parents. I feel so honored to spend several hours with new little families. It takes much longer to complete a newborn session than any other session .... you have to stop for feedings, diaper changes, and some cuddles. However, the sooner you have the session the easier it is! I joke that I will meet you at home when you leave the hospital but it isn't far off. The first 7 days is ideal, but doable within the first 10-14 days. So if you would like to do something like this for your own newborn call before your due date and I will tentatively put you on the schedule and then we can finalize it after delivery.

Okay, enough talking. The first precious baby was actually 3 weeks old and we got lucky because she slept quite a bit for us! Her mom and dad are beyond thrilled as they have been hoping for a family for several years. We are connected with them several ways so it was a lot of fun to get to know mom better. Dad is on the road with his job so this is his first peek! :)

My second session of the day is the daughter of a family I have loved getting to know the last few months. After spending several hours with them I feel like they are good friends. We enjoyed talking about all kinds of things and especially this sweet little miracle. Mom was on bedrest for several weeks but it all paid off in a healthy delivery, a week early no less! She was 7 days old and wanted to be in on the excitement. That's okay cause we waited her out and she couldn't stay awake forever. Once we started making all kinds of noise she konked out. I love daddy hands as you see in the first one.

In the second you can see a gorgeous throw that was on their couch. I love getting to use items that are personal to each family!

I can't wait to show you the next one tomorrow! Stay tuned!

New Friends

This sweet family recently became friends through our church. A few weeks ago they welcomed their second child into their family. I was honored to be asked to document her arrival into the family. Despite only being 7 days old, she decided modeling was hard work. We still captured some beautiful images that I know they will treasure for years to come. We even snuck in a few of the family and her big sister!

Sweet Dreams

Just wanted to share one of the precious little guy I was privileged to spend time with tonight. He snoozed away and let us move him however we wanted.  I think he enjoyed being the center of attention.

More to come in a few days....

Sweet Baby Girl

****Make sure you scroll down after reading this post. There is a another new post before this one.

This precious little girl was born just before the "ice storm" hit. Thankfully they only had to endure about 24 hours without electricity and for that I was grateful for them. I can't imagine having to worry about having a 4 day old baby and how I was going to keep her warm and comfortable. She is about a month old and interested in all the things going on around her. She was super tired but she didn't want to miss a moment of her big photoshoot. She still gave us plenty of cute looks and I was honored to witness her parents shower her with love. We did her photos in their home which I love because it allows the parents to have anything they need at their disposal. I felt so welcomed into their home and enjoyed spending my evening with them. Thank you for allowing me to photograph your sweet daughter.

Her daddy was so precious with her. She would quiet down for him as soon as he did his magic swaddling. I love when dad's are hands on and this dad was definitely hands on. He is definitely "in love" with his little girl. I suspect that she will have him wrapped around her finger.

Thanks again. It was a pleasure to spend time with both of you!
