Love. {Paducah Engagment Photography}

This sweet couple came home from college a few weekends ago so that we could do their engagement session. Our luck would have it that the day we scheduled called for rain ALL day. At the last minute we met a day early and grabbed the last hour of daylight we had and captured some great images of the two of them. Emily is an old pro in front of my camera since we just did her senior session a year ago but her fiance rocked his first time with us!

They are planning an October wedding and we couldn't be more excited! Without further ado....

2009 Year in Review

2009 has been an INCREDIBLE year for Darling by Design. I feel so blessed to have met so many new friends along the way. I leave every session hoping I've gained a new friend and been able to capture some priceless memories. Thanks for allowing us the privilege to share these experiences with each of you. I don't take one moment for granted.

I look forward to lots of new and exciting things in 2010. I have some big news from a personal vantage point and have lots of exciting things in store for my business. Be on the lookout for a new pricing structure and lots of exciting new products!

In the meantime, I took a few minutes this afternoon to grab some favorite images from 2009 sessions. I hope I got one from each session but if I didn't let me know and I will fix it! :)

Blessings on you all in 2010!!!

More Catching Up

I am still playing catch up from my marathon weekend a few weekends ago. I feared it might be our last nice weekend of the year so I booked myself solid. I didn't take into consideration how long it would take me to process all those images. :) So to all of you families...thank you for your patience as you waited to see a few of your images!

This sweet family had me out to their home and it was a fun challenge. We had to work with the sun a bit but we found some great locations. I loved getting to meet their little man. He was precious!

This family had to reschedule because of sickness...but I think our new date had even warmer weather than the first time did! It was 70 degrees and we were warm by the time we finished. Their boys were so fun and so into taking pictures. It made for a fun time!

This sweet couple is excited about their upcoming wedding! I was honored to capture a little bit of their relationship. They have been together for a long time and you could see that they were really comfortable with one another. It even comes across in their images. I plan on sharing more of their session as I get caught up, but for now here's a few good ones!

Sweet Friend

Kim has been a great friend of mine since I started graduate school in Abilene. We both remember the moment that we decided to be friends. We knew of each other before beginning our Master's programs but not well.  One night at the beginning of our program we both were feeling the need for a friend.  We hit it off immediately.  We did a lot together during those two years, including Kim living with Mike and I for a few weeks when things really weren't going well for her.

Kim and Jacob have dated for a LONG time.  Six years to be more precise. They have had their moments but I know they are ready to make this next step.  Kim and I have planned for a long time to take some photos when they came to visit and luckily it got to be their engagement session.  I am so excited to participate in their wedding in Virginia in just a few short months.

Kim kept telling me how they weren't photogenic but I never believed her.  I looked forward to this session for several weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the few hours we spent on their session.

We laughed ALOT and that always makes for good times.

There were several different settings for this session .... and I loved them all.  It was so hard to choose any favorites.

Jacob even admitted that he enjoyed himself.  I considered it successful when I hear those words!  Of course I had my best assistant on hand to keep the laughs coming.

This might be one of my favorites.

Or maybe this one....It really is to hard to choose just one!

Kim is already getting lots of use from her pictures.  We created a wedding invitation that she will use as well as finding several others ways to incorporate these images into the big day.

Kim and Jacob, Mike and I can't wait to celebrate with you both in just a few short weeks!  It's going to be a great weekend!

Kacey and Chance

Kacey and Chance met up with us on Sunday after having to reschedule several times due to weather. This week was a little bit windy and cool but you would never know it. They never complained about being cold and walked all over downtown with us. These two are planning a May wedding and are starting to feel the pressure of all the last minute plans and details. It was good to be able to just relax and spend some time walking around getting to know one another.

Thanks for allowing us to have the opportunity to get to know you and capture your love for one another.
