I feel like I am always falling behind. Before I know it I realize that I should have blogged 4 days ago. I am grateful that things are so busy and I really love it. All that to say that I should have blogged this a week ago.
It was pretty hot on the day we met for this session. One of those 100 degree days with 100% humidity. I think we were all sweating when we were done but we sure had fun in the process.
This is just a sample of what we came away with!
I thought these shirts were so cute. They are designed to show the age of the child. LOVED IT!
This little guy is ON THE MOVE. He will be walking in no time. But he stopped every now and then to make us happy!
And of course one of the boys together. Aren't their outfits precious?
Sorry again that it took me a few days. Be on the lookout for several more post as I have a few sessions in the que.

Humidity and Curls
This little guy is the big brother to one of the sweet newborns that was featured here just a few weeks ago. We love this family and were excited to photograph this precious boy for his two year portraits. We had a lot of fun but it was HUMID. His little curls were in full force but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. Aren't they precious? Just like most 2 year old boys he was on the GO constantly but patience and hanging out pays off!

4 days old
This sweet little girl came in to the world last Wednesday morning. She is the second child (first daughter) of some friends in our small group from church. I felt honored to spend Sunday afternoon hanging out capturing their new little family. Her mom was amazing to keep our plans as I know she felt awful....she's not only recovering from a C-section but has a bad cold AND a spinal headache as well! She wanted some precious images so she endured. Her sister came over to help so it was a family affair!
Enjoy friends!
We ventured out to the front steps to play in the baskets....she just slept as I carried her all over the yard.
LOVE the dark hair, chubby cheeks, and double chin!

2 in 1
So this is a twofer special! Two sessions in one blog! Both of these sweet girls were photographed yesterday. This has been a fun weekend of hanging out with new little girls and their parents. I feel so honored to spend several hours with new little families. It takes much longer to complete a newborn session than any other session .... you have to stop for feedings, diaper changes, and some cuddles. However, the sooner you have the session the easier it is! I joke that I will meet you at home when you leave the hospital but it isn't far off. The first 7 days is ideal, but doable within the first 10-14 days. So if you would like to do something like this for your own newborn call before your due date and I will tentatively put you on the schedule and then we can finalize it after delivery.
Okay, enough talking. The first precious baby was actually 3 weeks old and we got lucky because she slept quite a bit for us! Her mom and dad are beyond thrilled as they have been hoping for a family for several years. We are connected with them several ways so it was a lot of fun to get to know mom better. Dad is on the road with his job so this is his first peek! :)
My second session of the day is the daughter of a family I have loved getting to know the last few months. After spending several hours with them I feel like they are good friends. We enjoyed talking about all kinds of things and especially this sweet little miracle. Mom was on bedrest for several weeks but it all paid off in a healthy delivery, a week early no less! She was 7 days old and wanted to be in on the excitement. That's okay cause we waited her out and she couldn't stay awake forever. Once we started making all kinds of noise she konked out. I love daddy hands as you see in the first one.
In the second you can see a gorgeous throw that was on their couch. I love getting to use items that are personal to each family!
I can't wait to show you the next one tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Neighbors
Since Mike and I married we have been blessed with fabulous neighbors. When we lived in Abilene we had a sweet family from Brazil that lived near us in some apartments. They had two precious girls and we really enjoyed getting to know them. That neighbor shared with us a thought from Brazil that we have 100% agreed with. I don't know if I remember it exactly but it was something like, "Anyone can have a good house, but a house is nothing without good neighbors."
We have always enjoyed our homes but they are so much better because we have wonderful neighbors. We have known this family since we moved to Paducah. We have a great neighborhood with friendly people! They live a few houses down and we have spent several evenings together as well as helped each other work in yards, weather the ice storm, and watch out for each other's houses when someone is out of town. It was a pleasure to get the opportunity to photograph their 3 year old. I remember the week she was born and meeting her for the first time.
She was super excited about having her picture made and kept saying "I'm not done getting my pictures made yet!" Another time I had her sitting and she said "Sara, you want me to stand up right here?" She was just trying to help me pose her next! I loved it and could have kept going long after we had to call it a night.
Even if we aren't always neighbor's we will always consider them friends!
