9.20.2008

Just a week after the winds of Hurricane Ike blew through Kentucky, we hoped for a nice day for Mike and Christy's wedding. The morning was beautiful with blue skies and a few clouds floating around. There was a 40% chance of rain and we were all praying that it would hold off until after the 6pm wedding. Christy and Mike realized the importance of spending time on pictures so we started pretty early capturing all the beautiful moments of their day!

I was prepared to get some great photos after getting the opportunity to do their engagements and Christy's bridals about a month ago.

We started with the most important...pictures of the bride and groom. They had a special moment in which Michael saw his bride for the first time and then we got busy. The location of their wedding gave us some beautiful backdrops.

Michael is a handsome groom! Christy was beaming when she saw him.

Their bridal party really stepped it up when it came to the camera. Don't you think?

The rain held off even though just barely. I think they finally relaxed and had a good time when it was time for their first dance. The smiles tell the whole story.

These two really tried to steal the show...everyone thought they were adorable. They were dancing away and didn't want to give up the floor!

I haven't had a chance to post Christy's briday portraits so I want to make sure to leave you with a few of my favorites. It was sooo hard to narrow it down and just post a handful.

Isn't this vintage look awesome?

Thanks again for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day! It was a joy to share it with you. I hope you guys had a great honeymoon in Florida and came home rested and rejuvenated!

Fall is Coming!

I had so much fun last week hanging out with this family for a little while after work. It was one of those days that you could really tell fall was coming because it was really cool out. At 5pm it was cool enough to need a sweatshirt, so it was great that Sarah had in mind fall photos! I was on my own that day so it was a challenge to get everyone smiling at the right time....but I think we succeeded!

These two brothers were loving on each other! They were SOO excited to be there and had some energy to run out. In spite of their excitement they were very cooperative!

Little sister really didn't want to sit still so we played chase . . . I won!

They had energy so we used it to our advantage. They thought it was so fun to run down the hill.

I hope you enjoy getting to see a few of the smiles we captured last week!

Sam

First, let me just say that we have been sooo busy lately. I have SEVERAL shoots that I need to blog but I put it off because I am trying to get pictures finished and galleries ready for clients! So if you are waiting for your sneak peak, bare with me...I'm working as fast as I can! I feel so blessed to have the best customers to photograph. I am really enjoying getting capture senior images for several of our friends.

We split this shoot up over two days since it is already getting dark so early! Sam and his mom, Jane, met us downtown and we had a lot of fun! I hope you guys both like what we have to show you!

Okay, I want to hear from all of you out there! Which ones are your favorites?

Zak

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Zak and his mom and dad tonight before it got too dark. Zak was a busy boy investigating these amazing new surroundings. I wanted to give his mom some peace of mind that we really did get several cute images despite his busyness and lack of interest in the camera!

Emily, you guys were great and I will have your gallery up soon! Make sure you let me know what you think.....

He really loved playing with the big "blocks." I thought it totally captured the life of a little boy.

Little Kade

This little man was almost 5 weeks old but he was an angel. He was so interested in what was going on around him and his mom and dad were awesome! I was so excited to meet them and spend the afternoon together. His mom and I share our name and that was just one of our similarities. She loves good photos and I can't say I blame her. The ones of her precious little one are incredibly sweet!

Here are a few for your viewing pleasure....

Lee Family

It was such a privilege to meet up with Terrell and Teresa and their kids, spouses, and granddaughter. They hadn't had a family portrait done since Julia joined the family earlier this summer. The morning we met was extremely humid but we still had a good time as you will see below.
We made sure to get a few different combos of people as well....

All the girls....

All the guys....

Another version of the guys....

We cooled off by heading inside to do a few black and white....

On a Roll

I'm on a roll today. These aren't all posted at once but several have been scheduled to post every few hours!

This sweet boy was only 4 days old when I visited him in his home and we moved all over the house capturing his first professional images. He was so good...he just curled up and slept wherever we took him!

Within two weeks is definitely the best time to get newborn images. They will let you curl them up in so many different positions and sleep through it all. I adore so many it was hard to choose!

Hope you enjoy!

Catch Up

Life has been so busy and I haven't been able to keep up with the blog in an effort to get galleries up for clients sooner! However, I have a few minutes now and thought I would set up a few posts....I hope this means that you will be seeing many new posts in the next few days!

This sweet little guy was so sweet. We had met his mom and dad several months ago when we took their maternity pictures. He was about a month old but was so good. He slept some and was awake some but didn't cry much at all!

Towards the end we snuck out to the backyard and the light was incredible. This is one of my favorite images!

I just can't help but capture feet any chance I can. In no time these little feet won't be so little anymore.
