My first session of 2011 was to photograph this precious newborn baby boy. His mama was on top of things and we had talked about the importance of photographing within the first 10 days in order to get the best possible images. I believe he was 10 days old exactly during his session. He slept so wonderfully for us which is one of the best reasons to photograph so quickly after birth. Newborns are much more cooperative when then are in the milk stupor. He was quite a big boy and was doing so great when I met him. His family is head over heels in love with their new addition.

I love those precious baby details....

Precious soft skin and fat rolls...

His older brother is in love and is so sweet with "his baby."

I believe there is a lot of staring going on in this house....

A family of boys is just right.

And the big.

These were all processed in black and white at the request of mama. I love the timeless look they create!

The Princess

This precious little princess just entered a sweet family and is adored by her two older brothers. They were often checking on her to see what was happening and making sure that she was a happy little camper. I loved the combination of using some color as well as the classic black and white images.

I hope that her momma, daddy, brothers, and the rest of her family just adore the images we captured below!

2009 Year in Review

2009 has been an INCREDIBLE year for Darling by Design. I feel so blessed to have met so many new friends along the way. I leave every session hoping I've gained a new friend and been able to capture some priceless memories. Thanks for allowing us the privilege to share these experiences with each of you. I don't take one moment for granted.

I look forward to lots of new and exciting things in 2010. I have some big news from a personal vantage point and have lots of exciting things in store for my business. Be on the lookout for a new pricing structure and lots of exciting new products!

In the meantime, I took a few minutes this afternoon to grab some favorite images from 2009 sessions. I hope I got one from each session but if I didn't let me know and I will fix it! :)

Blessings on you all in 2010!!!

4 days old

This precious little girl was only 4 days old. She did an awesome job letting us move her around and curled up just like we wanted her to. Having newborn images within the first 7-10 days is ideal as they are much more likely to sleep and allow us to get the images you desire. As you can see she woke up towards the end but was very content to just sit and look at me.

Sleepy Newborn

Isn't a yawn just precious on such a new little baby? I love when they are sleepy and want to sleep regardless what you are doing to them. We get the most precious images. This little one is the new little sister to this little girl that I photographed a few months ago. She has entered the family and seemed to take her place seamlessly. I enjoyed getting to spend a few hours on Saturday morning capturing her sweetness.

I think this is one of my favorites! Just something so peaceful about it.

Which one is your favorite? Leave a comment....

Blessings

I met this sweet baby last Sunday when he was nine days old. I couldn't have asked for a better model. He slept through the whole session. I thought he might stir at some point but he just snuggled in and got a good nap. He was 9 pounds and so he showed off his rolls and sweet little double chin.

His mom had me come to their home and it was enjoyable to spend the afternoon in their home. They are both so relaxed and settled with this new bundle of joy. I think he will fit just fine.

4 days old

This sweet little girl came in to the world last Wednesday morning. She is the second child (first daughter) of some friends in our small group from church. I felt honored to spend Sunday afternoon hanging out capturing their new little family. Her mom was amazing to keep our plans as I know she felt awful....she's not only recovering from a C-section but has a bad cold AND a spinal headache as well! She wanted some precious images so she endured. Her sister came over to help so it was a family affair!

Enjoy friends!

We ventured out to the front steps to play in the baskets....she just slept as I carried her all over the yard.

LOVE the dark hair, chubby cheeks, and double chin!
